Summary

Event: Northern California Championship Qualifying Meet @ Amador Valley High School

Date: Saturday, December 17

Time: Registration begins at 8:00 and will continue up until 8:30. Competition will start promptly at 8:30 and end around 1:00. Results will be announced around 1:30.

Parking is available off of Del Valle, in front of the Amador Theater, and at the Student Parking lot.

Price: $10 per student (pay at event in cash or check made out to Amador Valley High School)

What to Bring: $10 registration fee per person, writing utensils, calculator, water, snacks (scratch paper is provided).
 
Lunch: Lunch will be sold for $5 (2 slices of pizza and soda). You can also bring your own lunch or buy lunch downtown. There are good places to eat in Pleasanton downtown though, including Las Fuentes, New York Pizza, Subway, High Tech Burrito, Coldstone, Yolatea, Quiznos, and other places. To go to downtown, go south on Santa Rita Road.

Rounds

Sprint Round - Individual Round
60 minutes to complete 30 multiple choice math problems. Calculators allowed.

Target Round - Individual Round 
8 questions to complete in pairs.  10 minutes per pair.  Calculators not allowed.

Team Round - Team of 6
20 minutes to work out 10 questions.  Calculators allowed.

Relay Round - Team of 3
5 triplets of problems.  Each member will receive one question of the triplet.  When the first member gets an answer, (s)he will pass it back to the second person, who will use this answer to get the second answer.  The second answer will be passed to the third person, who will use this number to get the final answer.  6 minutes maximum for each triplet of problems, with bonus points if answer submitted before 3 minutes.  Calculators not allowed.
