## What is the Amador Valley Math Team?

The Amador Valley Math Team is a student-led organization that participates in math competitions around the San Francisco Bay Area and promotes the enjoyment of competitive and recreational mathematics in the school and the local community. We are the largest high school math team in the Northern California, and the largest academic extracurricular at Amador Valley High School.

We consistently have qualifiers for the American Invitational Mathematics Examination and rank highly in national and local math competitions. We host programs on campus that seek to recognize our Math Teachers, encourage parental involvement in education, bring in public speakers to talk about applications of math, and help out with our local middle school MATHCOUNTS team.

The Amador Valley Math Team competes as a part of the Pleasanton Math League, formed on February 28th, 2009. This math league consists of all the high schools and middle schools in Pleasanton, and provides a venue for Pleasanton math students to compete together and learn from each other.
